Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
I don't love you as if you were the salt-rose, topaz or arrow of carnations that propagate fire: I love you as certain dark things are loved, secretly, between the shadow and the soul. I love you as the plant that doesn't bloom and carries hidden within itself the light of those flowers, and thanks to your love, darkly in my body lives the dense fragrance that rises from the earth. I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where, I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I don't know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep it is your eyes that close

Please pray for her Friday night Charlotte's Web opened. We were going to a haunted house afterwards. There was a car crash, Dylan and Elissa and Anna were in the car. Anna is in a medically induced coma, and we don't know how bad it is. Right now the earliest they would be waking her up is Tuesday or Wednesday.

I like my Sesame Street... And NPR too!
Save NPR and PBS! Read about it. Sign the petition "Congress must save NPR, PBS, and local public stations. We trust them for in-depth news and educational children's programming. It's money well spent."

"Want to stage manager my life? You're hired." Yay! Rehearsals make me so happy. All of the actors seem very close to being off book. At this rate there won't be many line notes to write at all. I assume that since it was the first scene it was their best one, but still. I think Zac is very pleased. The fans are awesome. I can totally tell that they've all been working hard. Rehearsal puts me in such a good mood. The weather is great too. And Evan made me a cd. I've been working hard on the Day of Silence flyers that I told Anna I'd do. We need S & E music! Nathalie does actually, the rest of us have copies from Prep. We're going to play the Mozart. I got my pictures back from the trip! I'll probably post some soon.

[Link] | In the last week I've played cards more than I've slept.
Toronto was pretty awesome. Except there was quite a bit of drama. Both old and new.
The church we stayed at was haunted. Maeven was freaked.
According to Jim I have the best "you're a dumb ass stare" ever.
We had so much Starbucks. One of the best times on the trip was after the 4:30-9 breakfast we served when everyone was taking a nap so those of us who were awake were allowed (actually forced) to leave. Kevin, Kenny, Maeven, Sara and I walked around and found some of the coolest stores ever. Our planned afternoon for shopping on Queen St. sort of sucked, so it was nice to go alone.
We helped at food pantries & soup kitchens and went to lots of churches. There was gross work and people work and boring work.... It always makes me feel good though.
I took so many pictures. Disposable cameras rock. I can't wait to go to Walgreens.
We met some cool theatre people.
Some traumatic experiences from truth or dare. But we don't want to think about that. Ewww. We played almost every night. Last night was the only time we let an adult play. It was Jim, so it was okay.
The car ride was fun. Hersheys, walkie talkies, and more B.S.
Last night we went to a Blue Jays game. Maeven and Sara and Kevin and I sat in the back playing cards.
I just got home from an orchestra performance. It felt so good to play with good people, even though we messed up some. It was me, Jacqueline, Brandon, Elliot, Kes, Olivia, Charlie, Nathalie, and Fluffy. Fluffy and I had skittles and watched the rest.
'm happy. I'm even looking forward to going back to school rehearsal.

[Link] | I've been having an awesome day.
Anna made me vanilla coffee this morning for breakfast. It was yummy. Taijah was still sick, I hope she's getting better. When we were waiting outside the school Brianna passed around her even-more-yummy chocolate coffee. In orchestra we finished the clapping tests. Somehow Mrs. Thole got to talking about Cedar Point and how they're canceling the trip for us. She said (like she says about everything) she can't do anything about it and we should get our parents on the PTO (what used to be the PTSO). Not all of our parents have time. She should know that. We're making a petition. We are trying to get as many 8th graders as possible to sign it and we'll give it to Mr. Kendall and the PTO. We're also individually writing letters and attaching them to the petition (like about how they take away everything for us, we will raise money, new ideas for fundraisers, etc.) I hope that it at leasts makes him reconsider. In gym we had "pride day". We played "volleyball", it was hilarious . I worked on a shrinky-dink for Anna in art. It kind of sucks, but still. We watched a movie in science but I didn't really pay attention. In social studies we watched Johnny Tremain, that's a pretty good movie (at least for a movie that we watch in school). We got to make nametags in English. I really want to know why. I did have fun decorating mine though. The team party was suprisingly fun. I almost beat Emily in Egyptian ratscrew! I also sort of learned how to play Rummy. Not really though.
Rehearsal went so well. Paul dropped me and Emily at the library early. We went to get me chai (and other stuff for them) with Charlie and Evan. Photo shoot was today. Amy has an awesome costume. It was the first time we ran through the show. It was 1:10!
Time for Prep.

[Link] | I did not have a good day.
I was thinking about not going to school. I've been feeling sort of sick lately. And really tired. I did go though because I can't miss too much school, if I miss a lot for other reasons then Aedin won't let me do CYT. Taijah wasn't there in the morning, Sarah said she was sick.
While we were waiting outside in the cold before school I got everyone to sign Simon's "card". When he got there I gave him the card and cd. In orchestra we had clapping tests on G and H. I got 95% (19/20) on both of them. So much for being able to skip any tests in the near future. In gym I stayed inside. I was going to go outside, but I decided that it was too cold. The gym teachers like our farm analogy. (center is the chicken, quarterback is the farmer, receivers are the farmer's kids, defense are the foxes, etc.) In art we made shrinky-dinks. Andrew was in there. He's so annoying. Mrs. Erickson put him in charge of the oven. How stupid. In science we were in the lab, it was pretty easy but no one else in my group tried. At lunch Mr. Kendall repeatedly announced that he was taking away the nachos and the salt shakers. Social studies was so boring. Someone set off another stink bomb and Mr. Doutt opened the door. It was interesting at least when Mr. Doutt asked what everyone was staring out the window at, and they told him that there were kids skate boarding. Central had a half day, so Casey and John were out there. Mr. Doutt said he was calling the cops. That English sub makes it really boring. I don't like that they ask a question comparing part of the story to the story of Adam and Eve. Not everyone knows the story of Adam and Eve, and they shouldn't have to. Ms. Goodwin says that Mrs. Echols should be back by the end of next week!
When I got home Anna was outside. We were locked out. Paul was teaching a class until 3:15. We sat in the back yard for an hour. I was reading The Peniultimate Peril. I caught a cold out there. Paul got home and unlocked the door exactly 2 minutes before Emily and her mom came to pick me up.
Rehearsal was okay at least. Sort of. Not very well actually. Michelle took me and Sawyer to the Parish and we sat in the booth and called a scene from Camelot. Riley was there! They were working on the lights. He's so funny. When Sawyer and I got back to rehearsal they were running the second half. It didn't go that well. I just know they can do better.
When Amy and I got to youth group they were watching a movie. It was boring. Kevin did this "festival of the leaves" thing. It was really stupid. Sara wasn't there. I was about to call Paul like 10 minutes before youth group ended but Wayne and them told me that there was a session meeting so he couldn't take me home. After youth group I went up and looked in the room but he wasn't in there. I called Paul, he was skipping it. Corey offered me a ride home, but no, I can't take rides from people. He's not even in high school anymore. He was my leader for a week in NYC, the only place I could go without him was the bathroom, but he can't drive me home from church. I waited outside in the cold until Paul picked me up.

[Link] | I don't feel good. I've had a headache all day.
School has been boring. We have a new sub for English this week. We're still doing football in gym, it sucks. I finished the box thing I made with clay in art. Tomorow in orchestra, we have 2 clapping tests. We had an M&M lab today in science.
The actors had to be off book yesterday. They're doing okay. Not nearly as bad as it could be. Molly, one of the fawning ladies, has pink eye. On Friday we're all going to a haunted house after rehearsal.
Current Mood: crappy
